Peru district/province variable 1992 svy [message #11831]

I was wondering why I cannot find a district/province variable for the 1992 survey while it appears as one of the questions in the questionnaire and further the district variable is available for all the rest of data sets (1986 and 1996-2012).

Following is a response from Senior DHS Data Specialist, Shea Rutstein:

The survey was done at the height of Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) activity (insurgency--terrorism) so the areal IDs were left off to protect the respondents.
