I was wondering how to know which recode file is used to calculate the indicators in the StatCompiler tool. By clicking on the info button of the variable the universe definition is supposed to tell which one was used (household, women, men, etc.). However, for the 'Percentage of de jure children under 18 years of age living with mother, father alive' it says that the Universe is Children, but the unit of analysis (case) in this file is the children of women born in the last 5 years (0-59 months) and I was wondering how this was possible. I would have said that the Universe for the 'Percentage of de jure children under 18 years of age living with mother, father alive' would have been Births. Am I getting something wrong?

I'm not really following your logic here. The universe definition in the STATcompiler does not tell you which dataset was used. It tells you who is included in the denominator of the indicator - in this case Children. Children are anyone under the age of 18 who is alive. The dataset used for this indicator is the Household Members file (or Person's Recode). Births would be incorrect as that dataset is only for children of women interviewed and includes dead children.
