hello everyone,
I am calculating U5 Mortality for South Asian countries. Can anyone please tell me what is the name of the variable for date of birth of child in DHS data. I am not able to find it. Is it B1 and B2?

Your reply will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Dear User,
According to the recode manual, B3 is the variable for the birth of the child.
Quote:
B3 Century month code for the date of birth of the child (see note on century month codes).

For additional information about the recode variables, please see the Standard Recode Manual http:// www.dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/DHSG4/Recode6_DHS_22March2013_DH SG4.pdf which can be downloaded from our website.
Thank you!
