i am going to analyze maternal mortality ratio and ante natal care for sub Saharan African countries using latest DHS data sets. however i faced difficulties in finding maternal death variable from countries data sets. so can you help me to get the variable names of maternal death for sub Saharan African countries?

The variable for maternal deaths is mm9 (code 2 through 6). Note that the maternal death information is for sisters of the respondent and there is no information of antenatal care for these sisters, only for the respondent herself, and (obviously) the respondent was alive at the time of interview.

mm9 can be found in the IR file and you will need to reshape the data to change the unit of analysis to siblings to use mm9. See message 8851 for information on reshaping the maternal mortality variables.
