understanding data column entry techniques
https://userforum.dhsprogram.com/index.phpindex.php?t=rview&goto=12138&th=5994#msg_12138
Does anyone have any insight as to why the data set would be coded this way? (Why the same information is being coded in so many separate columns for the same respondent?).
Normally this would not have been a problem. But there is some discrepancy between the columns. (i.e for certain respondents, the same education variable is coded as primary in the first column and secondary in the second column).
Thanks!]]>ak13772017-03-31T18:48:47-00:00Re: understanding data column entry techniques

You do not say which survey of Pakistan. Is it the 2012-13 survey? Which computer package. I only use Stata. Is that what you are using? What file? The HR? You should almost always use the PR file, which has one record for each person in the household, rather than the HR file, which has one record for the entire household. Please be more specific and we will try to answer.
