Cluster level population density data (Geospatial Covariate Datasets)
https://userforum.dhsprogram.com/index.phpindex.php?t=rview&goto=23510&th=11277#msg_23510
However, it is well known that population density is measured differently in rural and urban due to the different degree of point location offset (the buffers had a radius of either 2 kilometers for urban points or 10 kilometers for rural points).
May I ask whether it is possible to use population density as a control variable directly in a full sample (urban and rural) regression analysis?
If not, how can the variable of population density be processed for the full sample regression analysis. Thank you for your answer.]]>Harvey2021-09-29T13:02:15-00:00Re: Cluster level population density data (Geospatial Covariate Datasets)

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
DHS staff have not used density as a control variable and cannot give a recommendation for how to proceed. You can use your own judgment, or perhaps other users will offer suggestions.
