Dear DHS experts,

I am trying to estimate the percentage of postnatal checkups for mother and newborn within two days of delivery for all the available DHS surveys. More specifically, I want to estimate the following two indicators:

- The Percentage of women with a postnatal checkup in the first two days after birth (Table: Timing of first postnatal checkup for the mother)
- The Percentage of births with a postnatal checkup in the first two days after birth (Table: Timing of first postnatal checkup for the newborn)

I was able to estimate these indicators for many of the countries, but for a few DHS with recode V and VI, I was not able to estimate. For example, Kenya DHS 2014 (Recode VI), Madagascar DHS 2008-09 (Recode V). I followed the discussion in the following link: https://userforum.dhsprogram.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=15 151&&srch=postnatal#msg_15151

Can anyone kindly share the Stata code for estimating these two indicators for Recode V and Recode VI?

Thank you.

Best,
Rahman

Following is a response from DHS Senior Research Associate, Lindsay Mallick:

The attached program should provide you with code for all the PNC related indicators for both newer and older surveys.
