Hi,

I have seen a similar question here from before, but I did not understand the whole answer so I would like to ask again.

I am using the DHS data 2002/2003, 2007 and 2012 for Indonesia. I have found one variable called "smvillag" in the sample for men and "svillage" in the sample for women, and both takes a number for each observation. Now I wonder how I find what all the numbers stands for. Does one number indicate a specific village? Then, is there a list of all possible numbers and villages the variable could take? If not, can I then use the GPS data and get the information from there?

Thank you!

I would also like to know the answer to this question!

I'm also curious about the variables sub district (shsubd) and census block (shcenus).
