Hi,

I am conducting logistic regression analysis on various indicators surrounding sanitation and want to calculate the mean regional prevalence of open defecation. Am I able to do this by simply creating an interaction variable or is there a way of doing this which creates a more specific output for each region which I can then add as a covariate to my model?

Many thanks,
Ann

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

Is this question about a specific survey, such as the NFHS-4 (India)? Are these sub-national regions, such as the states of India, or regions such as South Asia? Are you using Stata? It is not necessary to use logistic regression to calculate means of sub-groups. Please be more specific.
