linking kids file with parental information [message #15471]

Hello,

I was trying to link some parental (mother and father) information with kids file. Some information about father was asked to mother, such as age,education, occupation etc. of father, So it is readily available with kids file. But what if I wand to merge an information of fathers smoking and alcohol consumption? DO I have to match the men's file with kids file?

Could anyone please advise in detailed on this?
