I am currently looking at the Child Vaccination percentages, specifically for DPT (Pentavalent), which is displayed in the Ethiopian final report in table 10.2 on page 171 (Child Health). According to the Guide to DHS Statistics, on page 110, it states that DPT should be counted when the corresponding Polio vaccination is present. ie if a child got Polio-2, then we should assume that DPT-2 was received as well. Is this correct, or should it be applied only if there is missing data (missing immunization card)? I ran the numbers not linking Polio and DPT at all, and my numbers matched up exactly with those found in the Ethiopian final report, and when I included the Polio logic, my numbers were quite off. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you in advance!
