Hello,

In the Kenya SPA MCHIP section, the number of observed deliveries is 626. However, I noticed that there are some missing data. For example, 195 of the 626 did not have both sections 1 and 2 observed. Do you have any information as to why the data might be missing? Further, the SPA report notes that 626/946 eligible deliveries were observed. Does this reflect the response rate (66% of those eligible accepted participation) or the sampling (626 randomly sampled from 946)?

Thank you for the clarifications.

Best,
Stephanie

Dear User,
In quickly looking at the MCHIP section of the 2010 SPA Kenya survey questionnaire, there are a number of skips that could explain this. Take a closer look at these to see if you can determine the source of the missing responses. In the meantime, I will ask someone to look at this as well. This is an older survey, and the SPA surveys have evolved a lot over time.
Thank you!

Hello,

Yes, thank you. There are skips to indicate whether section 1 was observed (scd100) and whether section 2 was observed (scd200). So the "no" response to either of these questions indicate that the section was not observed. I'm curious if there is any information as to why certain sections were not observed. For example, 149/626 did not have section 1 observed, but did have section 2 observed. Is this because observers missed the first part of the labor or for another reason? I'm trying to determine the source of the missingness.

Thank you!
Stephanie

Dear Stephanie,
Someone else will be looking at this and will respond as soon as possible. Thank you for pointing it out.
