Good morning. I was wondering if: a) The DHS samples some of the same homes/individuals in multiple surveys overtime and; b) if same samples are included in multiple surveys, how can those samples be identified. I'm trying to make a longitudinal study, and it will be really helpful since the DHS has much information about the topics I want to do research on.

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

Quote:
The samples in successive DHS surveys are completely independent of one another. It is not impossible for the same household to be included in more than one DHS survey, but if that did happen, there is nothing in the ID codes for households that would allow anyone to know that.
