What is the difference between the two variables - v006 (month of interview) and hw18 (month measured) - in the child recode (KR) files? They do not match for all observations, and hw18 is absent for some countries. hw18 also contains many missing values.
Appreciate any help!

Thanks

In general the date of interview and the date of measurement would be the same, but it is not unusual that the measurement of a child may be done on a different day. Typically the interviewing teams are in the cluster for 3-5 days and so the measurements may be taken a couple of days apart, perhaps because some of the interviewing and measuring could not be completed in a first visit and took a second visit to complete, or because some equipment was not available at the precise time needed. Occasionally this difference may mean that the interview started at the end of one month but the measuring took place in the first day or so of the next month.

In general, when calculating anthropometric measures we use the date of measurement, but when the date of measurement is missing, we use the date of interview. In countries where it is completely absent then the date of measurement was not recorded and we use the date of interview in the anthropometric calculations.
