Poverty line and tribes [message #28680]

To whom it may concern,
I am working with the IABR74FLso with DHS 2015-2016. I want to keep all the observations which do not belong to a schedule caste or tribe and that are above the poverty line. I am struggling with this issue.
Can someone please help me?

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

You need to define the poverty line in terms of variables that are in the DHS files. DHS Methodological Report #9, by Shea Rutstein and Sarah Staveteig (https://dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/MR9/MR9.pdf), may be helpful.
