Hi. I am using DHS from 2010, 2014, and 2019 for regression analyses on STATA. I do not understand how to use weights for my analyses. I am doing propensity score matching, nearest neighbor matching, IPW, and IPWA. Also, I am using logit and OLS to run more simple regressions. From my understanding I need to weight the analyses, but I do not know how. Do you have a basic example of code for it?

Also, do I have to use the standard v005 or the district (because the information sheet says that weights are given by districts)? Thank you

And, Do I need weights for everything? for example, if I run a ttest between two groups..?
Thank you, any help would be highly appreciated

Best,
francesca

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

There have been many previous postings on weighting in Stata. You could go to the Stata GitHub programs (https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata) and search for "weight", "svyset", and "svy:". You can also search for those keywords on the forum itself.

We recommend that you always use weights and that you also adjust for clustering and stratification in the sample design. However, some Stata commands do not allow these kinds of adjustments.
