I can't find this topic anywhere else on the forum, but please direct me to correct location if I have missed it.

I am currently working on some analysis of the Nepal 2022 DHS data and it has some files I am unfamiliar with. Most notable is that there are is a birth recode (BR) pregnancy recode (GR) and pregnancy and postnatal care recode (NR). I can't find anywhere on the DHS website why these three different datasets exist and what distinguishes them from one another. Or when you should use one versus the other. Any guidance would be great!

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Methodological Report #34 (https://www.dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/MR34/MR34.pdf), by Sara Riese, published in August, should be helpful. Let us know if you have other specific questions. I believe other documents are being produced or updated to help users with the new files.
