Dear Expert,

I am working on the Pakistan DHS data set for 20172018. I need province-wise data for the total number of children ever born. What is the code for province-wise total number of children ever born data?

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

In the women's recode file, the IR file, the number of children ever born is v201. The variable for region, which in Pakistan is the province, is v024. In Stata, the weighted means of v201 within categories of v024 is given by the command "tab v024 [fweight=v005], summarize(v201) means". There are other ways to get these means but be sure to use weights.
