In response to the global commitment and programme efforts to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV as well as to increase coverage of treatment for children living with HIV, there continues to be demand for data on HIV among children.

We would like to recommend that in countries where HIV testing (biological testing) is included in DHS, that children be included in testing.

When presenting data in the final reports, we would like to suggest that the age groups are standardized across all countries, and aligned as per the global monitoring guidance (i.e., <1, 1-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15-19...).
